This feature is available to Business, and Enterprise users.
MavSocial’s Facebook Bulk Ads feature allows you to create and schedule multiple Facebook Post Ads at a time via Excel spreadsheet.
How to use Bulk Facebook Ads
- Navigate to the Ads tab and choose the Facebook tab, followed by Bulk Ads Template. This will allow you to create a Bulk Ads template for use when creating your Facebook Ads.
- Select the Facebook pages you would like to create Ads for, the Facebook Ad account, and Ad campaign.
- Create your target audience, budget, and optimization setting.
- After filling in all the desired information, click Save and your Bulk Ads template will be saved.
- Next, navigate to the Bulk Ads tab, and click Bulk Ads Template, which will download the template with the settings you chose in steps 2 to 4.
- In the Excel template if you want to use an existing campaign, enter the campaign ID, so that the ad sets will be created under the existing campaign.
To create a new campaign and adset, enter a campaign name and Ad Set Name. - Once you have finished editing the template, click Continue in MavSocial.
- Next, you will need to upload the edited Excel template file to MavSocial, making sure to specify the name of the sheet used in the template, and the format used for the date and time.
- After clicking Upload & Continue, MavSocial will scan the document for any errors in your template and list out any changes you need to make.
Correct these mistakes and re-upload to MavSocial as in step 8. - If the scan is successful and no errors are found, the Ad campaigns and Ad sets will be created in Facebook Ads Manager.
- Here, you are able to edit ad details, correct any errors, and remove any rows that are not required.
- After making any final changes, click Save.
- Click the Continue button and the Ads will be saved in MavSocial.
- Next, navigate to the Post Manager and select the Facebook tab. Then, click on the Boost Post icon, and you will see the Link to Bulk Ads button.
- Then, select the sheet for the template you uploaded from the list of uploaded bulk ads files.
- After clicking the Boost button and publishing from the Post Manager, the ads will be created.
Note:
- Boost post ads will be created only for the matching pages selected in the post manager and in the Bulk Ads sheet.
- The post schedule date in the Post Manager needs to be earlier than the Ads start date in the Bulk Ads sheet.
Breakdown of the Bulk Ads Template
The Bulk Ads spreadsheet template is comprised of the following columns:
Column A: Page ID
Unique page id, which shows in the Page URL, as shown below.
Column B: Page Name
The Page Name is a title of any page, and it is shown on the title line, near the top in large bold letters.
Column C: Ad Account ID
When you advertise on Facebook, your ad accounts are given unique ID numbers. These ID numbers can be useful when you want to add an ad account to the Business Manager. You can find your Ad Account ID number in the drop-down menu in Ads Manager.
Column D: Ad Campaign ID
The unique ID number of the ad campaign you're viewing in the Edit campaign Action menu. Show your ad to as many people as possible in your target audience.
Column E: Ad Campaign Name
The name you give your campaign in your advertising account. You can view your campaign name in Ads Manager under the Campaigns tab.
Column F: Ad Campaign Objective
Your advertising objective is what you want people to do when they see your ads. Currently, we are supporting below 2 types of objectives.
- Post Engagement: Reach people more likely to engage with your post. Engagement includes likes, comments, and shares but can also include offers claimed from your page.
- Reach: Show your ad to as many people as possible in your target audience.
- Store Traffic: Show your ad to people most likely to visit your physical stores when they're near them.
- Conversions: Encourage people to take a specific action on your business's site, such as having them to add items to a cart, download your app, register for your site, or make a purchase.
Column G: Special Ad Category
The Special Ad Category column allows you to declare if your Ads are related to a Special Ad Category or not.
If you select Yes, you will need to give the category type in column H. If you mention an existing Campaign ID which has already been given a Special Ad Category, then you need to select Yes in column G.
In this column, if you select No, you do not need to give the category type in column H.

Column H: Special Ad Categories
This allows you to declare if your ads are related to Credit, Employment, Housing, Social issues, Elections, or Politics. As of now, we are allowed you to give Credit, Employment, Housing in the sheet.
In the Template step in MavSocial, you can find the list of Special Ad Categories in the downloadable Ads Data sheet.
After clicking on Ads Data you can download and view the Sheet like below.
You can copy the categories from the Ads datasheet and then paste with comma separation into the bulk ads template sheet.
Column I: Campaign Budget optimization
Campaign budget optimization will distribute your budget across ad sets to get more results depending on your delivery optimization choices and bid strategy. You can control spending on each ad set.
You can select Yes or No in this dropdown.
If you are using an existing Campaign ID that has Campaign budget optimization enabled, you will need to select Yes for Column I.
Column J: Campaign Budget Type
Campaign Budget type is the daily or lifetime amount you want to spend on this Campaign.
- Daily budget is the average you'll spend every day.
- Lifetime budget is the maximum you'll spend during the lifetime of your ad campaign
Column K: Campaign Budget Amount
The Campaign Budget Amount describes the total amount spent on the campaign.
Column L: Campaign Bid Strategy
Bid strategy will use your entire budget and will focus on achieving the lowest cost opportunities.
Lowest cost without cap: will use get the most results possible while staying within the benchmark cost per action.
Lowest cost with Bid cap: will use get the most results without exceeding your Bid cap.
Column M: Ad Set ID
The unique ID number of the ad set you're viewing in the Edit Ad set Action Menu.
Column N: Ad Set Name
An Ad set is a group of ads that share settings for how, when, and where to show. When you create an ad set you need to give Ad Set name.
Column O: Country
Enter one or more countries, to show your ad to people in those locations. In the Template step in MavSocial, you can find the list of countries in the downloadable Ads Datasheet.
After clicking on Ads Data you can download and view the Sheet like below.
From the Ads Datasheet, you can copy the countries and paste with comma separation into the bulk ads template sheet.
Column P: Zip Code
Enter one or more zip codes with comma-separated related to the Country which you gave in the Country column
The ad will be targeted to given zip code locations
If you provide a Radius, then the Country and zip codes will be ignored
If you want to target by zip code, you can only give one country in the Country column
Column Q: Radius
You can target ads to serve to Facebook users in a Page location(which is mentioned in native) with the radius. When you mention radius, you have to keep the country column empty.
Column R: Distance units
You can select Miles/Kilometers for a given radius.
Column S: Age Min
The minimum Age allows you to target audiences within a selected minimum age.
Column T: Age Max
The minimum Age allows you to target audiences within a selected maximum age.
Column U: Gender
The Gender column allows you to choose to target either men or women or select All for both.
Column V: Language
language refers to showing your ads to people who use a language that isn't common to your location. In the Template step in MavSocial, you can find the list of languages in the downloadable Ads Datasheet.
After clicking on Ads Data you can download and view the Sheet like below.
From this sheet, you can copy the Languages, and you can paste with comma separation to the Bulk Ads template sheet like below.
Column W: Targeting
Targeting allows you to select the group of people to show your ads to. You can select as additional demographics, interests, and behaviors. In the Template step, you can find the list of targeting options in the Ads Datasheet.
After clicking on Ads Data, you can download and view the Sheet like below.
From this sheet, you can copy the targeting options, and you can paste with comma separation to the Bulk Ads template sheet like below.
Column X: Budget
The budget is the amount you want to spend on this ad set. The currency is based on the ad set.
Column Y: Budget Type
Budget type is the daily or lifetime amount you want to spend on this ad set.
- Daily budget is the average you'll spend every day.
- Lifetime budget is the maximum you'll spend during the lifetime of your ad set
Column Z: Bid Amount
Bid Amount is to Set a cost control amount if you have a specific cost goal. If you don't set this one, Facebook's ad system will focus on spending your entire budget and getting the most results.
Column AA: Bid Strategy
Bid strategy will use your entire budget and will focus on achieving the lowest cost opportunities. Unless you have super specific budget goals in mind.
Lowest cost without cap: will use get the most results possible while staying within benchmark cost per action.
Lowest cost with Bid cap: will use get the most results without exceeding your Bid cap.
Column AB: Facebook placement
The places where you can run your ads are called Placements. Depending on the objective you choose when you create your campaign, your ads can appear on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Audience Network.
- Feed: Your ads appear in the desktop News Feed when people access the Facebook website on their computers.
- Right Hand Column: Your ads appear in the right-hand columns on Facebook. Right-hand column ads only appear to people browsing Facebook on their computers.
- Instant Article: Your ads appear in Instant Articles within the Facebook mobile app
- Marketplace: Your ads appear on the Marketplace home page or when someone browses Marketplace in the Facebook app.
- Video Feeds: Your video ads appear between organic videos in video-only environments on Facebook Watch and Facebook News Feed.
- Story: Your ads appear in people's Stories on Facebook. Learn more about ads in Facebook Stories.
- Search: Your ads appear next to relevant Facebook and Marketplace search results.

After clicking on Ads Data you can download and view the Sheet like below.
You can copy the Facebook placements from this sheet, and you can paste with comma separation to the Bulk Ads template sheet like below.
Column AC: Instagram Placements
- Stream: Your ads appear in the mobile feed when people use the Instagram app on mobile devices. Instagram Feed ads only appear to people browsing the Instagram app.
- Story: Your ads appear in people's Stories on Instagram. Learn more about ads in Instagram Stories.
- Explore: Your ads appear in the browsing experience when someone clicks on a photo or video. Learn more about ads in Instagram Explore.

After click on Ads Data you can download and view the Sheet like below.
From this sheet you can copy the Instagram placements and you can paste with comma separation to the Bulk Ads template sheet like below.
Column AD: Pixel id
Pixel ID and Pixel Events columns allow for conversion-based objectives. You need to add the Pixel ID in this field, which you will have created in Facebook.
Column AE: Pixel Events
You need to give pixel event names, which you will have created on Facebook for this Pixel account.
Column AF: Store Sets
Store Sets are required for the Store Traffic Objective. You will need to create Store Sets in Facebook, and then add those Store IDs to this sheet. Store sets are related to particular pages, hence mention the Store ID in the sheet based on the page added in the sheet.
How to find Store Set ID?
- Go to Your Ads account(https://business.facebook.com/) in Native Facebook
- Click on the Business Tools icon.
- Click on Store Locations.
- Click on Store Sets.
- Here you can find Store Set ID’s, simply you can copy and paste the ID in the column. You may only add one ID.
Column AG: Start Boost Post After Post Publish
If you select Yes in the sheet, the Ad will be created after the post published, in this case, Ad Start Date will not be considered.
If you select No in the sheet, the Ad will be created based on the Ad Start Date.
Column AH: Ad Start Date
The date you want to start your Ad.
Column AI: Ad End Date
The date you would like your ad to end.
Column AJ: Optimization
Choose the event you want to optimize for in your ad set. Your selection affects who sees your ads to get you the desired outcome. For example, if you choose to optimize for link clicks, we'll show your ad to the people most likely to click your link.
- Impressions: We'll deliver your ads to people as many times as possible.
- Post Engagement: We'll deliver your ads to the right people to help you get the most likes, shares, or comments on your post at the lowest cost.
- Daily Unique Reach: We'll deliver your ads to people up to once a day.
Column AK: When You Get Charged
This option determines when you pay for your ad.
- Impressions: We'll deliver your ads to people as many times as possible.
- Post Engagement: We'll deliver your ads to the right people to help you get the most likes, shares, or comments on your post at the lowest cost.
Column AL: Ad Name
This is your ad’s name, and You'll see this ad name in reporting, insights, tips, and notifications.
Note:
- Page ID cannot be empty.
- Page and Ad account IDs should match.
- Ad campaign ID or campaign name should be available.
- Ad set ID or ad set name should be available.
- Country or radius should be available.
- The minimum age cannot be empty.
- The maximum age cannot be empty.
- Gender can have either male, female, or all values.
- Budget cannot be empty
- Budget type cannot be empty
- Start Date cannot be empty
- Optimization cannot be empty
- Allowed values for when you get charged are Impressions and Post Engagement.
- Ad Set budget type/amount values not required in the sheet if you give the Campaign budget type/amount
- You need to give “Campaign Budget optimization” as Yes/No If you use an existing Campaign ID.
- You need to give “Special Ad Category” as Yes/No If you use the existing Campaign ID.
- You need to provide “Age” as 18 and 65 only, “Gender” as All if you use the Special Ad category.
- You need to give Pixel ID and Pixel vents values. If you select the Conversions objective in Campaign Objective
- You need to give Store set ID if you select the Store traffic objective in campaign objective.
- If you enter a Radius, the Country and zip codes will be ignored.
