Dynamic content tags in MavSocial are similar to dynamic content in emails. It allows you to personalize part of a social media post to multiple profiles and networks based on specific information regarding that social media profile.
To create personalized posts using Dynamic Tags in MavSocial, marketers add user-defined variables to the individual social profiles, such as location, phone number, or website.
How to use Dynamic Content Tags
1. Define Dynamic Tag
On the right-hand menu, go to settings, Dynamic Tags, and click the +Create button.
Create the name of the Dynamic Tag. This tag will be added to all social media profiles.
You need to define the type of tag
- Text - this can text or numeric
- URL
and specify the order in which you wish these tags to be displayed on the profile (1,2,3, etc).
Once you have clicked update, a list of the currently defined tags will display. You can edit or delete existing tags if you wish.
2. Enter Tag data
Go to social profiles. There are two ways to add data to the tags.
2.1 Select the grid view button and then a profile to which you wish to add data, click the cogwheel, and then select Details. The following will appear on your screen.
Then, enter the data into the various tag fields.
Note: you do not have to enter the data into all the fields or profiles, but if you don't and you then use publish referencing to this tag, the information will be blank
If you'd like to add data to another profile, follow the same steps as above.
2.2 If you have a lot of social media profiles that you want to add data to, you might find the above process rather time-consuming.
In that case, click the table view icon in social profiles
Once in this view, you can enter the data as if it were a Google/Excel sheet.
3. Publishing using the tags
Goto Post Manager and start to compose a post
When you want to include a Dynamic Tag, click the tag icon at the bottom of the test screen and select the tag(s) you'd like to use.
They then added to the text in the format {{Tagname}}.
When you select a network and profile, the post preview on the right-hand side will populate with the correct data inserted.
Selecting different profiles will display the post with the data relevant to that particular profile.
Note: In the Calendar view, when you click on a post that uses dynamic tags, the populated data will not display, but rather the tag filed name ie {{Tagname}} etc. But once you click post, the full preview will display the tag information.
